A Boy’s First Day At Walmart
A young boy embarks on his first day at Walmart.
His mentor advises him, “I’ll handle the first two customers to demonstrate the process, and you can assist the third.”
The mentor approaches the initial customer and inquires, “May I assist you, ma’am?” The lady replies, “I’m searching for some garden hose.”
The mentor asks, “Alright, would you prefer a 10, 20, or 30-foot hose?” The lady opts for a 30-foot hose.
He escorts her to the hose section and suggests, “Additionally, may I interest you in a lawnmower?”
Perplexed, the lady responds, “Why would I need a lawnmower?”
The mentor explains, “Well, as you water your grass, it will grow, and you’ll eventually need to mow it. A lawnmower will come in handy.”
The lady agrees, “Actually, you’re right; I do need a lawnmower.”
The young boy is quite impressed by his mentor’s sales abilities.
The mentor proceeds to the second customer and inquires, “May I assist you, sir?”
The man says, “Yes, I’m in need of some fertilizer.”
The mentor inquires, “Certainly. Do you prefer a 10, 20, or 30-pound bag?” The man chooses a 20-pound bag.
He guides the man to the fertilizer section and proposes, “Once you’re done here, can I interest you in a new lawnmower?”
Baffled, the man questions, “Why would I need a lawnmower?”
The mentor explains, “Well, as you fertilize your grass, it will grow, and you’ll eventually need to mow it. So, a lawnmower will be essential.”
The man concurs, “You know what? I do need a lawnmower.”
By now, the boy is thoroughly impressed by his mentor’s salesmanship.
Now it’s the boy’s turn to assist a customer. He approaches a lady and asks, “Is there something specific I can help you with today?”
The lady replies, “I’m looking for some tampons.”
The boy inquires, “Certainly. Would you like a 10, 20, or 30-pack?”
The lady selects a 30-pack, and the boy guides her to the tampon section. Then, he jokingly adds, “And when you’re finished here, can I interest you in a lawnmower?”
The lady looks at him with confusion and asks, “Why on earth would I need a lawnmower for that?”
