The Ingredients:-

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 1/4 cups unbleached flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon quick-rising yeast

The Instructions:-

  1. Combine all ingredients and mix by hand or with a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook, until you have a soft, smooth dough.
  2. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a slightly damp dish towel and allow to rise for 1 hour.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape each piece into a flattened ball.
  4. Place the buns on greased baking sheets, cover completely with a dry dishtowel and let rise for about 45 minutes or until they've puffed up.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake the buns for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Remove from oven cool buns on a baking rack.
  7. Split and use for burgers or sandwiches.
